1939...President Franklin Delano Roosevelt presides over the opening of the World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, Queens. The fair is billed as a look at the world of tomorrow, but opening day offers a nod to the past with a costumed George Washington on hand to commemorate the 150th anniversary of his first inauguration.
