1895...Teddy Roosevelt is appointed New York Police Commissioner at the age of 36. A tough top cop, Roosevelt cracks down on blue laws and wanders the city looking to catch cops sleeping on the job or accepting graft. Within three years he is elected governor, and three years after that he becomes the only U.S. president to be born in New York City.
