September 11th first responders are being honored in a new art exhibit.

"Artist as Witness: The 9/11 Responders" is now on display at the New York City Police Museum in Lower Manhattan.

The exhibit consists of 25 sketches and watercolors by artist Aggie Kenny, who in the spring of 2002 documented what she saw at the World Trade Center site.

The images depict the selfless work and bravery of the first responders and the surrounding conditions.

"You can see the intense work on the pile at Ground Zero, you see the sifting of this huge mountain of debris at the landfill on Staten Island. You see the work, you're reminded of the efforts that were made to restore order to maintain order in this city," said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

This is the first time these pieces have been displayed in public. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
