Third graders from the Talented and Gifted School in Harlem got a chance to chat with their pen pals from India today.

CA Technologies sponsored the teleconference.

"It's a wonderful opportunity," said Helene Blount, a teacher at the Talented and Gifted School. "My children are very excited. It's an opportunity for them to experience what other cultures are like, so it helps improve out academic success with writing. There is communication that goes on; it's geography, it's a world of knowledge."

Today's event kicked off a year-long program which will have pen pals sending each other weekly emails and video messages using Flip cameras. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
