The September 11th Memorial at the World Trade Center site won’t be open for another 10 months, but visitors to Lower Manhattan can now get a preview.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and officials from Sharp Electronics unveiled a new video display at the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site on Vesey Street.

It's part of a $1 million sponsorship by Sharp, which is also providing audio-visual technology for the Memorial Museum.

"Visitors will now be able to get even more vivid previews of the finished memorial and museum, as well as new images of the progress on the project," Bloomberg said.

"It’s going to be very exciting for the visitors who are coming here now to see that this memorial’s happening, and they can watch the progress just by standing outside the window," said Monica Iken, who lost her husband in the September 11th attacks.

The 9/11 Memorial is on track to open next year on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, with the museum set to open in 2012. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
