It's beginning to look a lot more like Christmas at the South Street Seaport.
Standing 40 feet high, the seaport's tree was lit up for the first time this year on Friday.
An organizer says nightly tree lighting shows will continue through the end of the year.
"The lights go on, the tree comes alive at 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 p.m. seven days a week and you get to see the full show, and the tree lights up, and it's a dancing light show," said South Street Seaport Marketing Director Lincoln Palsgrove.
