The man convicted of killing a Portuguese TV personality in a Times Square hotel room will serve 25 years to life in prison.

23-year-old Renato Seabra was convicted last month of the murder of 65-year-old Carlos Castro.

Investigators say Seabra choked, bludgeoned and mutilated Castro in 2011 inside the Intercontinental New York Hotel.

Prosecutors say the two were a couple and Seabra became enraged when Castro tried to end their relationship.

Seabra's lawyer claims his client is mentally ill.
