Traffic is back to normal on the Ed Koch/Queensborough Bridge after a truck fire caused the bridge to be shut down Sunday night.
You can see the smoke in this video sent in by a viewer.
Fire officials say the truck burst into flames while heading into Queens just before 7 p.m.
Investigators say the engine overheated and oxygen canisters in the back of the truck exploded.
No one was injured, but traffic on the bridge was shut down for about two hours.
"Well just being a New Yorker every time you hear a sound you sort of jump, so I mean we didn't know what it was. I called my mother right away just to let her know I was okay,"s aid one witness.
"We didn't know what it was or what to expect so we ran to the window, we saw all the cars backing off the bridge -- all the cars that were trying to enter the 59th street bridge -- backing up off the bridge then we saw all this black smoke and the fire department came, the police department came, we were both very impressed with how quick New York City authorities responded," said another witness.
The fire department says the truck belonged to a private contractor.
