Things returned to normal on the East Side of Manhattan on Sunday, after a massive manhole explosion rocked the area Saturday night
Emergency crews responded to 50th street between First and Second Avenues around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Police say a parked car parked on top of the manhole was damaged and some nearby windows were shattered.
Witnesses said the explosion shook nearby buildings.
"It was a really loud, like, deep, bang, just, boom. Like I said, it kind of vibrated my room a little bit. The light flickered for a moment," said one witness.
No power outages and no injuries were reported.
