Police are looking for a man that they say robbed and tried to sexually assault a woman on the Lower East Side.

Police say a woman let a man seen in the image above into a building Wednesday night.

He then allegedly confronted the woman in a stairwell and tried to get her to perform a sex act on him.

Police say when she refused, he grabbed the woman, but when she began screaming, he took her cellphone and wallet and fled.

The attacker is described as in his teens or early 20s. He is said to be 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weigh 140 pounds.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
