The wife and mother of two of the victims in Tuesday's scissor attack in Riverside Park says her family is recuperating.
Jenifer Ringer's husband, James Fayette, and their 2-year-old son Luke were playing in the park when police say they were slashed by 43-year-old Julius Graham.
Police say Graham also attacked three other people in the park, all in a 10-minute span.
Ringer thanked the police, and the community at large, for their outpouring of support.
"My husband's doing better, and we're hoping he's moved out of the ICU sometime today," Ringer said. "My son is, you know, he bounced back actually really fast. We're just really grateful. It could've been so much worse."
When police arrived in the park, a bystander had pinned Graham to the ground.
He was arrested and taken in for a psychiatric evaluation.
