Mayor Bloomberg spent part of his last Christmas Eve in office with New Yorkers in need.
The mayor thanked volunteers serving meals at the annual Christmas Eve “Lunch for the Homeless” at City Hall Restaurant.
He walked around and stopped to talk to the families eating lunch.
Bloomberg also spoke about the importance of giving.
"You don't have to stop just because you're not mayor, you can still help people. You know and I plan to do that. I'm not walking away. There's just different things you do and you help people in different ways,” Bloomberg said.
City Hall Restaurant has been hosting the annual lunch for 15 years.
