The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is planning to expand its bus fleet and make it more accessible.

The agency plans to add 120 new buses to city streets over the next two years.

The new fleet will be closer to the ground and will not require stairs which will make for better access for wheelchair users.

The new buses will replace old ones that date back 10 to 15 years.

The MTA board is expected to approve the new bus contracts on Monday.
