A school on Staten Island needs your help to win a national contest.
P.S. 37 in Great Kills serves children with special needs, including students with autism, cerebral palsy and Down Syndrome.
Parents are trying to drum up support for it in the America's Favorite School contest, which is sponsored by GreatSchools and Care2.
Parents and administrators say they could use every single cent of the $20,000 top prize.
"We're really trying to take this home. These kids really need the money. They need speech devices, they need adaptive equipment, they need so much in this building for these children," said parent Susan Pugliesi.
"Equipment for physical therapy and especially for technology, we would really like to increase the number of smartboards in this school," said P.S. 37 Principal Bill Fiorelli.
Voting lasts through Friday. To help the school, vote at www.americasfavoriteschool.com and click on "P.S. 37."
