Cardinal Timothy Dolan delivered the commencement address at Manhattan College on Sunday.
Dolan spoke before more than 700 undergraduates receiving their diplomas from the Catholic college in the Bronx.
It was be Dolan's first commencement address since his elevation to cardinal in February.
The college also awarded the cardinal with an honorary doctorate of humane letters.
