Former State Senator Hiram Monserrate reportedly wants a judge to let him see the girlfriend he was accused of attacking a year and a half ago.
The Daily News is reporting Monserrate will be in court Tuesday to ask for the order of protection to be lifted.
It was put in place after a late-night incident where he broke a glass on Karla Giraldo's face.
Both maintained throughout Monserrate's trial that it was an accident, but prosecutors said he slashed her in a jealous rage.
Monserrate will be appearing before the same judge who acquitted him of felony charges but convicted him of a misdemeanor.
Monserrate was eventually expelled from the Senate.
