NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Arts reporter Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

Tyler Perry's "The Haves And Have Nots"

Starting Thursday night, Tyler Perry's hit play "The Haves And Have Nots" comes to the Beacon Theatre. You may recognize the show's stars from Perry productions, including "Tyler Perry's House Of Payne." The play runs through Sunday and tickets start at $39.50.

Gregory Charles At Cafe Carlyle

Through Saturday night, Canada's Gregory Charles comes across the borders and crosses musical boundaries. The concert star and actor will sing, tap-dance and play piano and tell stories at the Cafe Carlyle. Showtime is 8:45 p.m. and it's $60 for the music and another $65 for dinner.

"Hey, Girlfriend!" At BAM

Saturday night, "get a clue" at BAM's Cinematek. You could try to get tickets to that night's sold-out screening of "Clueless" — "as if" — but at 6:50 p.m. you can still see Alicia Silverstone in person and check out another film she appeared in, "Vamps." The entire night is part of an ongoing series at BAM called "Hey, Girlfriend!" which looks a movies about female relationships. It's $7 for members and $12 for non-members.

Morley At Joe's Pub

Saturday night, with socially conscious lyrics and a soulful sound, get serenaded by Morley at Joe's Pub. The singer from Queens is celebrating the release of her new CD, "Undivided." Showtime is at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

Next week, hear Clint Holmes sing the songs of Paul Simon and Cole Porter at the Carlyle Cafe in a series of performances called “This Thing Called Love, Cole Porter & Paul Simon.” Shows are on Tuesdays through Saturdays, from April 10-28, with showtime at 8:45 p.m. and dinner served from 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $75-$85 for the music and $45 for the bar.
