A famed artist, best known for painting some of the world's biggest sporting events, is dead.
LeRoy Neiman passed away Wednesday at age 91.
Neiman was the official painter of five Olympiads and sketched the world chess championship between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky in 1972 for a live audience.
He produced many artworks of Muhammad Ali and was a longtime contributor to Playboy Magazine.
Neiman lived and worked at a studio near Central Park that he shared with his wife of more than 50 years.
