The Apollo Theater kicked off its new season of Amateur Night Wednesday with a tribute to Don Cornelius.
Amateur Night is now in its 78th year.
It's held every Wednesday night through October.
Among those discovered at Amateur Night were the Jackson 5, who would later go on to appear on “Soul Train.”
