Time Warner Cable customers could be getting faster Internet service, as the parent company of NY1 has boosted its top speed for standard connections from 10 megabits per second to 15 megabits per second.
Officials at Time Warner Cable recommend customers reboot their modems by unplugging them for a few seconds and them plugging them it back in, allowing them to reconnect at the new 15-megabit speed.
Customers who do not reset their modems will get the upgrade automatically later this month.
