The British band Eddie The Gun recently performed at the Highline Ballroom, and the act was thrilled to be in the Big Apple.

"It's been a dream for a long time, to actually be hear and doing it," said singer Eddie the Gun. "It's just huge for us."

"You just want to like take your thing, whatever it is that you do, and take it to people and come to a place like New York and do it," said bass player Cenk Aksun.

Their song "9988" harkens back to a decadent era in New York City nightclub history.

"I think it was a good era. It's a lot better than now, that's for sure," said Eddie.

The lead singer's influences should be no surprise.

"I love Blondie and that kind of era, too," she said.

The band got the name "Eddie The Gun" as part of a nickname.

"Basically, the guys used to call me 'Eddie,' because when I have a hoodie on I look like a little boy, and that's how it all started," said the singer. "'Gun,' probably something to do with the stage presence performance."

The band's ballad "Don't Be Afraid" will soon be on a big screen near you.

"Well, we basically got quite a few songs on the soundtrack of a movie called 'Chain Letter.' It's out October 2, and it's kind of a teenage slasher film and our song 'Don't Be Afraid' is the title track."

These London rockers may not be heading home anytime soon. The United Kingdom's loss will be the Big Apple's gain.

"We're not missing home whatsoever!" says Eddie.

"No, not missing home at all," says Aksun.
