Candidates Debate in State Attorney General Race

The two leading candidates for State Attorney General are meeting in Buffalo tonight for a live, televised debate on NY1 and livestreamed on ny1.com (no login required) starting at 7 p.m. Updated 12:18 PM

The Staten Island Advance says Grimm, who has served in congress since 2011, is well-versed in Staten Island issues as well as those concerning foreign policy and national affairs but notes his legal woes have made the borough a "laughingstock."

Attorney General Candidates to Face Off on NY1

Tomorrow night, NY1 will host a live, statewide debate between Eric Schneiderman and John Cahill in the race for state Attorney General. While Cahill is expected to call out the current AG for his involvement in two controversies, Schneiderman will likely question Cahill's qualifications.

Republicans Flank Cuomo on Visit to Model Sandy Recovery Community

Governor Andrew Cuomo marked the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy by visiting the Oakwood beach community on Staten Island, which became a model for the state's buy-back program. The governor made a point of saying his visit was not political, even though he is up for re-election next week.
