Fashion Week got off to a running start at Lincoln Center as Nicholas K and BCBG strutted their latest fall collections. NY1's Cheryl Wills filed the following report.

The brother and sister duo of Nicholas K kicked off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week with a bang. The siblings are known for their edgy urban look, but this season it's a little goth, a little grunge, and a whole lotta yee-haw.

"People associate the south, southwest with not being as sophisticated and a little more casual," said Designer Nicholas Kunz.

And don't judge this fall collection by the layers. The designers want you to keep an eye out for that feminine touch sandwiched beneath the jackets and hoodies.

"People like our general aesthetic so they do wanna see those pieces because they have the sexy outfit underneath," said Designer Christopher Kunz.

Meantime, the latest collection from BCBG Max Azria is all about harmony, with a burst of color here and there to spice up its elongated proportions and geometric shapes.

The fall line is a win-win for women who appreciate rich textures.

"Trying to bring color into fall - to make the clothes really seasonless."

"Fun, innovative, fresh, new. We have some great people showing," said IMG Fashion Consultant Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff.

BCBG is always fresh and innovative, a tres chic collection from a world-class designer.
