NY1 VIDEO: As NY1 revisits its 20-year history, the station looks back at reporter Dean Meminger's June 18, 2000 story on the fallout from the assaults of dozens of women near the Puerto Rican Day Parade route.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: Twenty-two women who were attacked during the parade eventually reached settlements with the city ranging from $1,000 to $150,000. An internal NYPD probe also found there were deficiencies in the way commanders deployed officers at the parade, and that some officers "failed to take proper police action" when victims approached them to say they had been assaulted.
