LIU-Brooklyn kept it close for a half, but in the end it just wasn't enough against top-seeded Michigan State Friday.
Draymond Green had a triple-double for the Spartans as Michigan State ended LIU-Brooklyn's season, 89-67, in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
After trailing by only five at halftime, the 16th-seeded Blackbirds were outscored by 17 in the second half.
In the history of the tournament, a number 16 seed has never beaten a number 1 seed.
However plenty of other brackets were busted Friday.
Duke lost to Lehigh 75-70, despite the game being played in Duke's backyard in Greensboro, North Carolina.
That came just hours after Big 12 champion Missouri was defeated by Norfolk State 86-84.
In the women's bracket, St. John's is heading off to face Creighton on Sunday.
The team got a big send-off Friday before leaving for Oklahoma.
