Nike is suing Reebok over the sale of Tim Tebow shirts, as Nike claims it has the exclusive rights to use Tebow's name on merchandise from a 2010 endorsement deal with the new Jets back-up quarterback.

The Tebow trade from the Denver Broncos occurred just before Nike replaced Reebok on Sunday as the official supplier of NFL team uniforms.

The lawsuit said demand for Tebow-related Jets apparel was intense last week, and that it was unlikely people buying unauthorized Tebow shirts from Reebok this week will purchase an authorized Tebow item from Nike next week.

Nike is seeking unspecified damages.

Reebok had no comment Wednesday.
