Carlos Pena spoiled the New York Yankees' season opener Friday as the Rays came from behind to beat New York 7-6 in Tampa.
Pena hit a ninth-inning RBI single off Mariano Rivera to win the game for Tampa Bay.
Earlier in the game he hit a grand slam off starter CC Sabathia, who took the mound against the Rays' James Shields in an eagerly anticipated showdown between two of the best pitchers in the American League.
The Yankees' home opener will take place on Friday, April 13.
