Former New York Yankees player Rosendo "Rusty" Torres was arraigned today and charged with four felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse of an eight-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say Torres abused the young girl on April 30 and May 8, while working as a baseball coach in Oyster Bay, Long Island.

Torres played with the Yankees in 1971 and 1972 and went on to play with four other Major League teams.

His bail was set at $50,000 cash or bond.
