Consolidated Edison workers continued to picket Wednesday as contract talks are not scheduled to resume until Thursday.

The utility locked out thousands of workers on Sunday after the contract with Local 1-2 expired and the previous round of talks broke down.

Your Call On Con Ed Strike

Are you concerned the power grid won't hold up with 8,500 workers off the job? Which side of this labor dispute do you support? Read New Yorkers' thoughts.

Union members say they're going to remain united.

"We're gonna stick together until the end," said Salvatore Guercio, a member of the executive board of Local 1-2. "We're gonna do whatever it takes for all of us until we get a good contract."

"We've been working as hard as we can to keep New York's lights on, gas, steam and everything," said Julio Cruz, an administrative assistant. "And now to come back and they want to take away our pension, they want to raise our medicals up to triple and they pretty much want to take everything that we worked for."

5,000 Con Ed managers are running operations and responding to emergencies.
