Le Parker Meridien Hotel in Midtown is presenting its first ever "gingerbread neighborhood" to help feed hungry New Yorkers this season.

Local bakeries entered their over-the-top gingerbread houses, which the public can view through the end of the year. A dollar buys a vote for one's favorite gingerbread house and a chance to win a vacation to Palm Springs, Calif.

"We hope that people will come down and take a look at these fun gingerbread houses and help support a really great cause.
Local bakeries don't get that much attention and we think they deserve it and a lot of effort and time and inspiration has been put into these homes so come and see them."

City Harvest officials say each donated dollar helps them deliver and rescue nearly four pounds of food. For more information about City Harvest, visit cityharvest.org.
