Mickey Mouse, other Disney characters, Olympians and Special Olympics athletes gathered for a little ice skating in Midtown's Bryant Park today.

"I skate in ice rinks and arenas all around the country, all around the world. But it's a very unique experience to be able to be out here in the fresh air with buildings around you, and have the opportunity to give back a little bit and help out some of the Special Olympians and also help promote a great show in Disney on Ice," said professional figure skater Michael Weiss.

"What better than to come and be in the city and bring a little happiness, and some special surprises to the special Olympics," said professional figure skater Natasha Kuchiki.

"We're thrilled that Disney on Ice has brought together the characters, and brought especially our athletes out on the ice to practice with them and have a great, great experience," said Jamie DePasquale of the Special Olympics.

Disney's "100 Years Of Magic" ice show is currently skating across New Jersey, with performances in Trenton, East Rutherford and Newark.
