The garment company Weatherproof can ward off rain and snow, but not the ire of the White House.
A billboard hanging in Times Square and another in Long Island City, Queens that feature President Barack Obama wearing a Weatherproof jacket came down today.
The company promised it would take down its Obama billboards after a request from the White House, which cited a longstanding policy against using the president's likeness for commercial purposes.
Weatherproof said it had purchased the rights to the photo and didn't think it needed approval to use it.
The presidential theme isn't going away though, as the billboard is being replaced by another one featuring Mount Rushmore.
Abraham Lincoln will also represent Weatherproof on a Las Vegas billboard starting next month.
