City cyclists put the pedal to the metal Sunday to raise money for rare cancer research as part of the fourth annual "Cycle for Survival" event.
The event was held at two Equinox gym locations in Manhattan.
Participants say it's a great way to combine their passion for cycling, along with raising money for a great cause.
"I've been spinning for five years and I thought what a great way to make a difference and do the thing I love at the same time," said cyclist Jessica Goldberg.
"Rare cancers just mean that there are less than 200,000 cases a year, per cancer. So we're talking about cancers like melanoma, pancreatic cancer, brain cancer, all pediatric cancers that people are aware of, but they just don't get attention and funding and we're trying to find more answers," said Cycle for Survival Founder Jennifer Goodwin Linn.
The event has already raised more than $4 million for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
