Tourism helicopters leaving from the 30th Street Heliport are about to be grounded.
Starting tomorrow, the heliport will only be used for commercial, government, or emergency takeoffs and landings.
A legal agreement with the Friends of Hudson River Park is an attempt to clear the park of noise pollution, fumes, wind and dust that they claim come from the Heliport.
Under the agreement, all helicopter operations will also cease at the location by the end of 2012.
