Hundreds of city school students made their Broadway debut Monday, with the help of a little star-power.
Students from more than a dozen middle schools performed on stage at the Majestic Theatre.
The kids, ages 11 to 14 years old, did numbers from popular musicals as part of the 5th Annual "Broadway Junior Student Share."
Actor Corbin Bleu from "In the Heights," and Disney's "High School Musical," hosted the event, and said it's important that all kids have access to the arts.
"It allows children to want to express themselves. Two, it's a creative outlet you know something that you know not every kid is into sports," Bleu said.
"Everybody cheered for us and it was crazy," said on perfomer.
"I saw what was going on, I go, 'Alright I think I can do this.' It was kind of difficult, but in the end I really, really enjoyed it," said another.
The students trained throughout the year with teachers and professional theatre artists.
It was the first time the event took place on a real Broadway stage.
