A Bronx man once arrested for threatening the president was taken into custody Wednesday for allegedly making threats to blow up transportation hubs in the city.
Law enforcement sources tell NY1 that Jonathan Avalos, 19, made four different calls to a Port Authority tip line between Sunday and Tuesday.
During the calls, sources say Avalos said he was going to set off a grenade in Manhattan's Penn Station.
He also allegedly threaten to blow up Newark Penn Station and the 175th Street station of the A Train.
Authorities traced the calls to Avalos' cell phone. After talking him into a meeting near Yankee Stadium, he was arrested.
As of late Wednesday, he was awaiting arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court.
The Norwood resident was arrested last year for threatening to kill President Barack Obama and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
That case is still pending.
