Columbia University is urging students and Upper West Side residents to be cautious following an assault and robbery on campus grounds.

University officials say a student was attacked on West 113th Street, between Broadway and Riverside Drive, last Tuesday.

The school says three men came up behind the student then proceeded to punch and knock him to the ground. They then robbed the student before taking off.

Columbia is working with police to investigate the incident.

Police are looking into whether it is part of a much larger robbery pattern in the neighborhood.

If you have any information, or want to report any suspicious activity, call Columbia Public Safety at (212) 854-5555.
