City straphangers are taking a ride through history aboard vintage subway cars.
For the next few weekends, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will be rolling out the old subway cars every Sunday.
The cars first made their debut back in 1932 and ran throughout the city until the 1970s.
Many riders and transit enthusiasts say it's a rare opportunity to get an up-close look at an integral part of the city's history.
"This train here is the holy grail of subway trains. It's the last one, last train left of what used to be around 1,702 cars," said one subway enthusiast.
"It's fantastic. It brings back a lot of memories," said another.
"The sounds it makes when it rolls down the line, it's very loud and very fast, which I like," said a third.
MTA offers the vintage rides during the holiday season every year.
