The Cooper Union will have a new president beginning July 1st.
Dr. Jamshed Bharucha has been selected as the 12th president of the prestigious school known for its art, engineering and architecture programs.
Bharucha hails from Mumbai, India, and is a specialist in the field of music's effects on the brain. He comes to Cooper Union from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, where he currently oversees nine schools and colleges as provost and senior vice president – a position he's held for more than eight years.
Prior to that, Bharucha worked at Dartmouth University in neuroscience.
