Port Authority Scraps Plans For One World Trade Center Restaurant

Plans to build a sky-high restaurant atop One World Trade Center have been scrapped.

A new version of Windows on the World had been on the drawing board since 2007. But the Port Authority and the developer behind the project have decided it would not be financially viable.

Port Authority Executive Director Chris Ward said in a statement that the agency will make the best and most practical use of the space available in the building and will not construct "vanity projects."
