The man accused of going on a deadly 28-hour rampage pleaded not guilty.
Maksim Gelman, who is charged with killing four people in February, was arraigned in a Brooklyn court on Tuesday.
Police say it all started when Gelman stabbed his stepfather after a fight about borrowing a car.
Investigators say he then went to the home of Yelena Bulchenko and her mother and stabbed them both to death.
They say Gelman also hit and killed a pedestrian and committed two carjackings, stabbing the drivers.
The stabbed drivers survived.
Police finally caught up with Gelman at the Times Square subway station, after police say he stabbed a rider, who also survived.
Gelman pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the subway attack. He is due back in court on June 7.
