Department of Health officials now say swimming is off-limits at four beaches following last week's fire at a Harlem Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Officials closed the beaches after water samples showed Sea Gate Beach in Brooklyn had elevated levels of bacteria.
In addition to Sea Gate, Cedar Grove Beach, Midland Beach, and South Beach — all on Staten Island — are also closed.
Previously, the beaches were open, but swimmers were advised not to go into the water.
Millions of gallons of wastewater spewed from the plant into the Hudson after Wednesday's fire.
The flow has been capped.
Health officials also want people to avoid having contact with all waterways north of the Verrazano Bridge.
