A group representing atheists has filed a suit in the Manhattan State Supreme Court to prevent the so-called "World Trade Center Cross" from being installed as part of the September 11th Memorial Museum.
The American Atheists call the plan "unconstitutional" and members claim the museum is a public institution that should not reflect a specific religion.
The group wants the cross to be removed or for items from other religions to be represented.
Museum officials say their mission is to tell the history of September 11th through artifacts like the cross.
