Prosecutors in the Dominique Strauss-Kahn sex assault case may be preparing to drop some or all of the charges, according to a published report.
The New York Times says the accuser's lawyer reportedly received a letter from the Manhattan assistant district attorney asking to meet with his client on Monday -- a day before Strauss-Kahn's next scheduled court appearance.
Attorney Kenneth Thompson tells the Times he thinks prosecutors wouldn't have requested a meeting unless they had planned to give Nafissatou Diallo bad news.
Diallo went public with her identity after questions surfaced about her story.
She says Strauss-Kahn attacked her in a room at the Sofitel Hotel in May.
Strauss-Kahn's defense team claims any sexual act that happened was consensual.
