Economic improvement for New York's Hispanic population is on the agenda at the Unidad Latina Conference in Manhattan.

State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos said the two-day conference will focus on promoting economic opportunities for the community.

"This is an outreach by the Senate Majority to the Latino community. We want to listen, we want to learn, and we're going to help you grow jobs,” said Skelos.

“It's very, very inspiring to me to see this group of people who are committed to helping the economic growth of the Latino community," said Irene Esteves, CFO of Time Warner Cable.

NY1's parent company Time Warner Cable is a sponsor of the conference, and Brooklyn reporter Jeanine Ramirez is hosting the Saturday night gala.
