Thousands of unionized cleaners for some of the city's biggest office buildings rallied and marched through Midtown Wednesday to demand a new contract.
Earlier this month, 32BJ voted to authorize a strike if a new contract cannot be negotiated with the Realty Advisory Board over wages and benefits.
The current contract expires on December 31, and that's when 22,000 workers could walk off the job.
The board claims the cleaners are the highest paid in the country.
If they strike, the Empire State Building, Time Warner Center and MetLife Building would be left without cleanup crews.
