President Barack Obama on Friday signed the Fallen Heroes of 9/11 Act, allowing the victims of the September 11th attacks to be honored with Congressional medals.
Gold medals will be presented for display at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in the city, the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon Memorial in Washington.
The bill also authorizes the sale of bronze replicas, with proceeds going to the U.S. Mint.
No date has been set for their presentation.
