The portion of a Madison Avenue building that remained closed following a deadly elevator accident last year has reopened.

285 Madison Avenue tenant Young and Rubicam said the high-rise fully reopened on Tuesday after moving its employees back into the building over Presidents Day weekend.

“It's actually nice being back because it's our home and familiar and everything. There's a lot of still sadness and everything, but I think within time that things are going to be a little bit more normal," said one employee.

Suzanne Hart, 44, who worked for the advertising agency, was crushed December 14 when an elevator suddenly shot up as she was getting on.

A recently-released Department of Buildings report shows a long list of elevator problems at the building.

It was hit with 56 violations over the past 10 years.
