The New Jersey Devils broke Henrik Lundqvist's shutout streak Wednesday – and then some.
The Devils' David Clarkson broke a 2-2 tie in the early stages of the third period and Martin Brodeur made 25 saves as New Jersey defeated the Rangers 3-2 at Madison Square Garden to knot the Eastern Conference Finals at one game apiece.
Ilya Kovalchuk opened the scoring for the Devils with a power play goal midway through the first period for New Jersey's first tally of the series, after Lundqvist shut out New Jersey 3-0 in Monday's series opener.
Marc Staal got the equalizer for the Rangers before Chris Kreider gave New York a 2-1 lead. But Ryan Carter tied the game for New Jersey to open the door for Clarkson's game winner.
The series will shift to New Jersey for Game 3 on Saturday afternoon.
