The New York Rangers have found themselves checked against the glass as time runs out to keep their playoff hopes alive.

They hit the practice ice yesterday, keeping their eyes on the prize.

It was 18 years ago today that then-team Captain Mark Messier made his famous "we'll win tonight" prediction in their Game 6 matchup over the Devils.

However, the 2012 Rangers are making no such predictions, telling reporters they just hope to make it to a game seven.

"We have to approach this game the same way we've been approaching each game. We can't put more pressure on ourselves," said Rangers Goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

"I don't look at it as overcoming 3-2, we need to win a hockey game. We're preparing to try to win one hockey game, and we'll see what happens after that," said Rangers Coach John Tortorella.

If the Blueshirts can push the puck to a deciding Game 7 it will be Sunday night at the Garden.

Game six gets under way in New Jersey at 8 p.m.
